Corrections log
IG Metrix publishes figures that people quote, model and present to others, so when we get something wrong we fix it and say so here. The log below lists each entry, newest first.
What gets logged
Each entry is dated, links to the affected page where there is one, and says what changed. Entries fall into four types:
- Correction: we published something wrong, such as a misread figure, the wrong period or the wrong unit, and have fixed it.
- Clarification: the figure was right, but our wording or labelling could be misread, so we have made it clearer.
- Update: new information changes what a page we wrote should say.
- Removal: we have taken an item down, with the reason.
When a regulator revises a figure
Regulators sometimes restate earlier numbers, for example when provisional figures become final. Our software reads the regulator's latest file, and a restated figure goes through the same checks as a new one before it replaces the old value. Tables mark figures the regulator has revised. Because those changes come from the regulator rather than from a mistake of ours, they are not listed in this log; the methodology page explains how revisions are handled.
How corrections are made
Our editor, Frank Black, decides every correction and writes every entry in this log. We fix the page first, then record what was wrong and what it says now. We do not fix our own errors without logging them.
Report an error
If you think a figure or statement on IG Metrix is wrong, email info@igmetrix.com. Please give the market, the period and the figure, and the source you are comparing it with if you have one. We check every report against the regulator's file.
Claim or correct a Directory listing
Email info@igmetrix.com with the profile and a public source for each change. Listings are free and A–Z: companies cannot pay to be listed, and a claim does not change the order.
