How IG Metrix handles your data

Page updated

This notice explains what personal information IG Metrix handles, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible. You can read every page on this site without giving us any personal information.

Who we are

IG Metrix ("we", "us") is responsible for the personal information described here. For any privacy question or request, email info@igmetrix.com.

Visiting the site

The site is hosted in the United Kingdom, on Google Cloud servers in London. Like any website, our server has to receive your device's IP address and the address of the page you ask for in order to send the page to you. We do not use this to identify you or to build a profile of you.

IG Metrix does not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies, and does not load advertising or tracking code from other companies.

We may count visits with a self-hosted analytics tool that does not use cookies and produces only aggregate counts, such as how many times a page was viewed. It is not used to identify or follow individual visitors.

The monthly email

You can sign up for a monthly email with the form on our homepage. If you do:

  • we store your email address with a record of when and how you agreed to receive the email;
  • your subscription starts only after you click the link in a confirmation message;
  • we use your address only to send the monthly email and messages about your subscription;
  • every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we stop sending as soon as you use it.

The subscriber list is held on our own server. The emails are sent through an email delivery provider, which may use your address only to deliver them. We do not sell your address, and we do not give it to sponsors.

Our lawful basis for the monthly email is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.

Emailing us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to deal with your message, for example to check a reported error. We keep correspondence only as long as we need it for that purpose.

Your choices and rights

The UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 give you the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to have it corrected, erased or no longer used. To make a request, email info@igmetrix.com.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You may also raise a complaint with the UK data protection regulator, the ICO, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date shown on it.
